DJ Dlearious grew up and still lives in Colchester, Essex. He entered the music scene when he was 16. The first album he purchased was by 2Unlimited. From this and various other dance albums / compilations he made a natural progression into commercial dance music and RnB. When Dlearious was 18 his musical direction changed into a more underground dance scene from where he found himself listening to various types of house music such as dirty, funky and electro as well as hard dance, trance and hardcore. However as time progressed, DJ Dlearious realised the importance of being able to mix mainstream music as well as the classic tunes from the 60’s right the way up to modern day music. DJ Dlearious now mixes all genres of music from garage to indie, hip-hop to dance and from 70's to motown but still has a strong passion for House music in all its forms.
Dlearious started DJing professionally in 2004 using professional DJ software and a state of the art (at the time) DJ MIDI controller manufactured by Hercules. He now uses either the specialist Vestax VCI-300 controller or timecoded CD's using pioneer CDJ’s in the larger bars and clubs.
Some of the highlights in his DJ career include performing a dirty house set for Kiss 105-108 as well as performances alongside superstar’s Sash!, Faithless, Steve Smart, Judge Jules, The Cut up Boys and Feeder. He has also performed for some of the biggest brands in the UK including Student Traffic UK, Flirt!, House of Dance, Hed Kandi, Kiss and Ministry of Sound.
In 2007 he launched “Sunday Session" which was hosted on a web based server for two hours a week. Listeners could request songs and shout outs which he would play during the 2 hour live mix session. In 2008 the popularity of the radio show grew and the online web server could no longer handle the number of listeners. Due to this, Sunday Session was migrated to the House of Dance community which runs a 24/7 radio station to thousands of listeners worldwide and broadcasts on radio stations across Holland. In 2009 Sunday Session expanded further to broadcast on Virtual DJ Radio and Belgian Hot Radio alongside the existing House of Dance Radio.
2007 also saw the formation of DJ Dlearious’ mobile disco service which sees DJ Dlearious perform at an array of different venues in and around Essex for functions such as weddings, birthdays and corporate events. In 2010 DJ Dlearious’ mobile disco service was incorporated into his own entertainments company “Nebula Entertainments Limited” in order to provide a greater service to his customers.
2008 also saw DJ Dlearious' popularity explode onto the commercial DJ scene by obtaining weekly residencies for the University of Essex, performing at the Hippodrome Colchester (Now Liquid Colchester) and performing as the main event for the launch party of the UCS bar in Ipswich. This success continued into 2009 which saw DJ Dlearious take to the mainstream. With his unique ability to play into any crowd and hold the dance floor he picked up a whole array of residencies and performed at some of the highest profile venues in Essex, UK. DJ Dlearious found himself playing at venues such as Yates’s in Colchester, Colors in Basildon, Sub Zero in Colchester, Liquid in Colchester, Cell in Colchester and Curve Bar in Colchester just to name a few. He also went on to pick up residencies in Route in Colchester, Colors in Basildon and continued his current residency spots at the University of Essex on an ever greater scale. 2010 saw DJ Dlearious pick up a residency at the brand new “Liquor Lounge” bar in Clacton on Saturday nights, along with maintaining residencies at the University of Essex and Colors.
2010 saw DJ Dlearious launch his own company “Nebula Entertainments Limited” which provides an array of services such as DJ training, mobile disco’s, event management, hire and repairs, artist sourcing and a self containing DJ agency. With a number of DJ’s and companies already affiliated with the company, he hopes Nebula will become one of the leading entertainment companies in the UK.
2011 looks set to become another huge year for DJ Dlearious with his drive and ambition to become one of the top DJ’s in the country. The international fan base of DJ Dlearious is also continuing to grow with an astonishing 600+ fans on Facebook with a large following from the USA, Germany and Greece.
